Students-Lodging.com Ltd FAQ

Please find our listing of questions most asked to us at Students-lodging.com...

Q- What do you do exactly?
A- As a member of the Studios92.com Ltd group, we supply affordable short and long term sharing accommodation in hostels, houses and flats to students who plan to live work or study in London.

Q- What do I need to book. Is there anything else I need to know?
A- Of course without a credit card to secure the booking, before anything you will need to fill in a booking request form, there are a few other things to be aware of: You will need your enrolment details for your college or university, passport details and a few other questions to answer. You will also need to update your reservation with your flight/arrival details at least 7 days before arrival. Failure to do this will result in cancellation of the booking.

Q- I am not a student, can I stay in the flats/houses?
A- The accommodation is design for students aged (18-30) who have are EU passport holders and passport holders of (USA, Canada, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand only). If you are not a current student, then we suggest our sister company www.flat-share.com, where you can book similar accommodation online, however you require a credit card to the secure the booking with a deposit.

Q- So there is nothing to pay before arrival?
A- That is correct. No booking deposit, no fees or charges. However the first two weeks are due on arrival (if less than two weeks, the entire stay), plus one week's (7 nights) rent as refundable cash deposit (on departure) after inspection of the room and return of the key to the flat manager. Of course if you have a credit card when you arrive, then an imprint is taken and no cash deposit is required.

Q- Do I have to pay bills on top of the rental?
A- NO! There are no extra bills or charges for the rental of your room. Water, Electricity/Gas, TV Licence, Cable TV service, Cleaning (bathroom and kitchen) are all included as well. VAT is included in all rates quoted.

Q- What type of payment do you accept?
A- When you arrive, we can accept Cash, Travellers cheques in Pounds, VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, some debit cards like VISA DELTA, SWITCH, SOLO and JCB. Cheques are only accepted by prior arrangement when booking (Please discuss it with the booking manager).

Q- I am a mature age student (over 30) - can I stay in your flat-shares?
A- Generally, Flat-share accommodation is more suitable for younger persons as the flats have a shared bathroom and kitchen and are occupied with younger students, however in most cases, if you are willing to accept the style of accommodation, we can try and assist you. If not, there is always some hostels that can accept people of any ages.

Q- What do I get for what I will pay?
A- You get your own private room with security key. In your room you have a fridge, cable TV, bed (with fresh linen provided), telephone (calling card required), side table and a full closet. You also have unlimited access to the fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. The flats/houses are within easy access of buses and the underground - there are plenty of shops nearby.

Q- Can you find me a family to stay with while I am in London?
A- I am afraid we can't. All of our accommodation must meet a certain standard and to place people with families means we cannot guarantee the quality of the stay.

Q- One week stay. Does this mean 7 nights or 5 nights like some hotels?
A- No. 1 week is 7 nights.

Q- Are you available to show me a room sometimes next week?
A- As often the rooms are fully booked and we respect the privacy of our current guests, viewings are generally not available unless by prior arrangement/appointments in low season. You can view some pictures of rooms by clicking on the links from the home page.

Q- What is your cancellation policy?
A- As a courtesy, we prefer you to cancel within 7 days of your arrival. If you need to alter your booking settings you can log onto our system and make the changes there.

Q- I am arriving very late about midnight or even later .. do you have a 24 hour reception desk?
A- We can only accept arrivals for flat-share up until 10pm, but we will be happy to book you in one of the Hostels (via our sister websites - a credit card is required) not far from our locations for the first night, and then come the next day at 10 am to our Flat-Share rooms.

Q- Wow, is the pickup service from the nearest station free when we make a booking?
A- The pickup service is FREE between 10am-5pm seven days a week. Any arrivals outside this time are subject to a pickup charge of 10 pounds per person.

Q- The prices are really affordable for London.. Do I really get a whole flat for so little?
A- Actually NO! The accommodation provided is flat-sharing, so you get a room in a flat or a house with your own key, and the bathroom and kitchen are shared with other rooms in the flat. Our sister companies can help you with entire flats or apartments, if you can afford it on a student budget. A short term rental for an entire flat starts at 300 pounds per week (excluding bills).

Q- Is breakfast included in the prices?
A- As the flat-share rooms are self-catering, there is a kitchen provided to prepare your own meals.

Q- I have a total of six people, and we would all like to stay in the same flat?
A- Unfortunately as you are not booking with a credit card, we are not able to secure block bookings. You can only assign one room per booking request. Due to the wide number of options, we cannot guarantee rooms being in the same flat at the same time.

Q- I would like to take a taxi/cab from the airport, can you make a suggestion?
A- Yes, we can suggest www.airports-taxis.com

Q- What is the best way to recommend you?
A- Tell your friends about www.students-lodging.com or studios92.com

Q- What is the area (North London, Zone3) like?
A- The area is very good with fast access to Central London on the Piccadilly Line. Being in Zone3, you can travel cheaply and easily also, with plenty of buses running 24 hours a day. There are cinemas, shopping centres and activities in the area, ranging from ten-pin bowling to indoor rock climbing - really something for everyone.

Q- I would just like to book for 3 nights, can I do this?
A- You will have to book a hostel or hotel on one of our sister sites, but you always need credit card details to do this.
